Hot Summer Alert: Prevent Burns from Overheated Playground Equipment

Share to
As the impact of global warming becomes increasingly evident, extreme weather events are occurring more frequently. According to the National Climate Change Science Report 2024, Taiwan’s average temperature has risen by approximately 0.3°C–0.5°C, while the number of days exceeding 36°C in southern tropical regions has increased by about 15–20% compared to previous years. These figures clearly show that today’s summers are hotter than ever.

In such extreme heat, parents should be especially cautious when taking children outdoors, paying close attention to heat exhaustion and heat-related injuries. Children are more vulnerable due to their lower heat tolerance and more delicate skin. Moreover, most outdoor playgrounds lack adequate shade, and playground equipment and surfacing can become extremely hot after prolonged sun exposure, causing discomfort—or even burns.

We therefore recommend the following precautions:
  • Avoid peak heat hours: Plan outdoor playtime for early mornings or late afternoons to reduce heat exposure.
  • Check temperatures in advance: If the forecast indicates outdoor temperatures above 32°C, choose playgrounds with shade or indoor play areas to protect children’s safety.
  • Stay hydrated: Adequate water intake is essential to prevent heat-related illnesses, whether indoors or outdoors.

As a playground construction company, we place great importance not only on product safety and durability, but also on sharing these friendly reminders—so every family can enjoy outdoor activities with peace of mind. Protecting our health means protecting our future. Let’s care for the planet, look out for one another, and move together toward a healthier and greener lifestyle.
